1950s L Shaped Edward Wormley for Dunbar 5526 sectional (2 sofas) Mohair and Wool
A pair of 1950s iconic armless sofas designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar Furniture model 5526. As a pair they form a nice L shape sectional. Reupholstered in a green mohair base with neutral diagonal striped wool loose cushions. A very airy form the sofas look like they float on the solid walnut legs. New foam and upholstery, these sofas were painstakingly restored to exact specifications from original Dunbar catalogue photos.
The fabric is new old stock fabric form Vladimir Kagan’s personal estate. Would pair well with designs by Harvey Probber, and Robsjohn Gibbings. Unmarked, but the sofa has the Dunbar construction with metal brackets attaching the legs to the sofa and no sag woven springs.
