1950s Edward Wormley for Dunbar model 495 sofa in gray velvet and mahogany legs
A 1950s Edward Wormley for Dunbar model 495 sofa recently reupholstered in gray velvet and dark mahogany sculpted legs. Dunbar construction is unparalleled and this sofa is ready to last another 70 years. The subtle curved back, swooping arms, and button tufted back offer sophistication. The sculpted legs show a nod to Wormley's Japanese and traditional influences. A true mid century design master that was known for blending modern and traditional styles. This sofa would pair well with organic designs from Vladimir Kagan, as well as with designs from Robsjohn Gibbings, Tommi Parzinger, and Harvey Probber.
