1972 Live Edge Walnut Coffee Table by Gino Russo organic Carved base Nakashima
An almost 8’ long monumental live edge American Black walnut table designed and created by Gino Russo in 1972. The live edge table is elevated by an organic hand carved form that emulates a coral reef. Rosewood butterfly keys stabilize natural cracks.
Gino Russo was an Italian immigrant who came to America during World War II and immediately began working for George Nakashima Studios in the early 1960s. After honing his craft, Gino left the Nakashima Studios and started his own studio outside NYC. His pieces are well made and coveted among collectors all over the world.
