A Bertha Schaefer for M. Singer Sons Occasional table. The natural travertine marble supported by sculptural walnut legs. A rolled lip keeps the travertine in place and mimics the arched curve of the legs. The walnut is a gorgeous Italian walnut with great highlighted sap grain. This example unlabelled.
This table would work well alongside the works of Gio Ponti, Vladimir Kagan, Robsjohn Gibbings, Tommi Parzinger, Edward Wormley, Etc
Condition:
Recently restored and shows very well>. The walnut has been sanded and oiled with a danish tung oil. The travertine showing natural pores and original filler. Shows very well.
