Part of the Jameson Winship 'Creatures' collection. Each Creature is constructed from stacks of rough plywood templates, which are affixed into a solid block. The largest Creature began as over 300 separate, puzzle-like templates. Once in its composite preliminary form, the excess material is delicately carved away to reveal the Creature’s intended shape. The final finishing stages consist of days of sanding and sealing. The end result is a classic, satin-feeling finish to the touch, with a natural, veneer-like finish to the eye.

This creature, labelled number one, is possibly the first creature in the collection. Similar in style to Wendell Castle.


Condition:
All original. Shows very well with nice patina. Some tiny holes in the surface where the laminate would have been missing during glue up. These losses are inherent to the process and do not detract from the function or beauty of this dinette table.
