Charles Sibley is regarded as Hampton Roads region's most important artist for the past half-century. Sibley exhibited in top New York museums alongside artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe and Willem de Kooning. Charles Sibley is represented in permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Rochester Memorial Museum, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, Chrysler Museum (Norfolk, VA), Winston-Salem Museum, Harvard University Collection, Illinois Wesleyan University and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
