Uncommon Jens Risom Model 2516 sofa with a curvaceous back and sculptural walnut base. The sides of the base with subtle bow tie shape, cutouts in the front of the frame lend to the allusion of floating. The front with a generous cantilever off the base. Design characteristics intrinsic to Jens Risom. Angled arms that curve in to the back, reminiscent of Vladimir Kagan and Adrian Pearsall designs. We’ve only seen a handful of examples of these sofas over the last 10 years. The example is unmarked and came from a single family owner in Virginia. .

Condition:
Reupholstered sometime in the 1990s. The Gray mohair has held up but is showing its age, with light soiling in some areas. The foam is hardening, especially in the seat cushions. A good candidate for upholstery. Walnut frame in good condition.
