An original AP19 “Papa bear” chair designed by Hans J. Wegner for A.P. Stolen, designed in 1951 and made in Denmark. This example with new black leather and featuring oak legs and teak paws. Retaining its original made in Denmark medallion. This chair featuring open armrests and teak “paws” the chair looks and feels like a big bear giving you a hug. The frame is made of solid wood and is hand joined with beautiful through tenons attaching the legs to the frame. Lower to the ground the armrests hit at a perfect height for elbow resting. A second chair with teak legs and teak paws also available in a separate listing. Reupholstered at the same time with the same black leather.

Condition:

New Black Leather. New canvas straps. Original springs and horsehair retained in the back. Oak legs have been stained and teak paws have been oiled. Ready to go.
